After attack on Steve Buscemi: New York police take perpetrator into custody

After the actor Steve Buscemi was attacked in New York, the police there have now arrested the alleged perpetrator.

A shocking attack on the well-known actor Steve Buscemi (66) caused horror on May 8th. The mime, who is known, among other things, from Quentin Tarantino’s (61) “Reservoir Dogs” and the cult film “The Big Lebowski”, was attacked in broad daylight in New York. A man had punched Buscemi in the face. The star suffered swelling and bleeding to his face and left eye. Now the alleged perpetrator has been arrested by the New York police.

New York police arrest Steve Buscemi’s attacker

New York police identified the attacker as Clifton Williams. The man is said to be a 50-year-old homeless man. After the attack, he is said to have changed his appearance and left the Manhattan district where he had previously attacked Buscemi. Williams now faces a prison sentence of up to seven years and a minimum prison term of two years.

The homeless man is said to have randomly attacked the Hollywood actor. This has increasingly occurred on the streets of New York in recent years. Comedian Rick Moranis (71), Michael Stuhlbarg (55), who starred alongside Buscemi in the series “Boardwalk Empire,” and reality actress Bethenny Frankel (53) have also fallen victim to similar attacks in the past.
