They confirmed the holding of the 39th Mar del Plata Film Festival

It will take place between November 21 and December 1, as confirmed by INCAA in a resolution published this Monday in the Official Gazette.

The president of National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), Carlos Pirovanoconfirmed today the holding of the 39th Mar del Plata International Film Festival, to be held between November 21 and December 1.

Through Resolution 173/2024 published this Monday in the Official Gazette, the INCAA reported that the call for directors and producers to participate in the festival will be open between May 20 and June 30.

The confirmation of a new edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival

In the resolution published this Monday in the Official Gazette, the INCAA formalized the regulations that will be in force for the festival and confirmed that it will take place from Thursday, November 21 to Sunday, December 1. And regarding the call for applications, he detailed that it will be open from this Monday – although at least until the early hours of the morning the website was not working – and until June 30.

In the regulations, in turn, it was stated that the 39th edition of the festival will include, as in previous years, the international, Latin American and Argentine feature film competitionthe Latin American and Argentine short film competitions, the “Altered States” competition and the “In Transit” competition for Latin American productions in progress as well as different parallel sections and special events.

The resolution signed by Pirovano states that Law No. 17,741 provides that INCAA “will be in charge of promoting and regulating cinematographic activity” and recognizes that “among the planned promotion measures is that of sponsoring contests and establishing prizes” and “applying sums from the Film Development Fund to the fulfillment of the activities that, in compliance with the aforementioned law, must be carried out in order to develop Argentine cinematography and audiovisual arts.
