Making people laugh is a monumental challenge. Just look at the large number of comedies that are released every year and how few the public remembers when December arrives. Those that endure in memory usually do so thanks to their combination with drama; they would not have left such a deep mark without their most emotional moments.
But why not make more comedies whose sole purpose is to provoke laughter? Genuine laughter, out loud. This is where ‘TO despite everything‘ stands out, without great pretensions, thanks to a series of gags that work wonderfully.

What is “Despite Everything,” a Netflix comedy about?
The film begins with the reunion of four sisters at their mother’s funeral. Despite their differences, they must come together to face a shocking revelation from the will: the man they believed to be their father is not their biological father, and it is possible that each of them has a different father.
Although ‘Despite Everything’ is presented as light entertainment, it stands out for its bold and frank depiction of love and sex, especially with women as protagonists. While cinema has often shown us womanizing men and their affairs, this film addresses how women handle open relationships and casual sexual encounters.
Two of the sisters have relationships with strangers without worrying, and the plot revolves around a mother who, after discovering that the love of her life was sterile, agreed to have children with other men. The male characters in this story are at the service of the female protagonists, which is worthy of recognition.
