Simon Kinberg is currently in talks to produce a new film “Star Trek” for Paramount with the filmmaker “Andor” Toby Haynes as director from a script by the writer of “Dark Shadows” Seth Grahame-Smithaccording to a source with knowledge of the project.

The film is described as an origin story that takes place years before the 2009 “Star Trek” film, which featured young versions of Kirk and Spock played by Chris Pine and Zachary Quintorespectively.
