Two arrests were made after the violent conflict on the street in which “Beverly Hills” star Ian Ziering was attacked.
Around five months after a violent confrontation on the street involving “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Ian Ziering (60) and other US media, two arrests were made. Last Tuesday (May 21st), a 20-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both residents of the state of California, were taken into custody on a warrant. The bail was set at $50,000 and $30,000 respectively.
The arrests were made possible thanks to the extensive video footage of the incident on New Year’s Eve 2023. Numerous passers-by filmed the fight with their cell phone cameras. According to the report, officials will now promptly turn the case over to the Los Angeles County District Attorneys. Possible charges include aggravated vandalism up to and including assault with a deadly weapon.
What happened on the last day of 2023?
On December 31st of the previous year, Ziering drove his car through Los Angeles in the presence of his twelve-year-old daughter Mia. A group of people on minibikes changed lanes in front of Ziering – one of the drivers is said to have hit his car. The actor then got out of his car and gave the minibike driver a push, as video footage of the incident shows. Ziering was then attacked by several members of the group, with blows to the 60-year-old’s body and head.
Shortly afterwards, Ziering described his view of the altercation in a statement. “Yesterday I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of people on minibikes. While I was stuck in traffic, my car was aggressively approached by one of these drivers, which led to a disturbing confrontation. I got out of my car to assess the damage. This action unfortunately escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated for my own protection.”
Ziering is “relieved” that both he and his daughter Mia were uninjured in the incident. He nevertheless called on law enforcement in his hometown of Los Angeles to “take decisive action against this lawlessness” so that “our streets are safe for everyone.” His demand has now apparently been heard.
But the other side also spoke up in the meantime. At the beginning of January, two members of the minibike group anonymously blamed Ziering and Ziering for the escalation. Both said that there had been “no physical or verbal arguments” between the group and Ziering before the exchange of blows.
