The news of a series of Harry Potterbased on the book series by JK Rowlingwas first confirmed by HBO Max last April with reports that each of the seven books will get their own season.
Now, Daniel Radcliffewho played the eponymous magician in the eight-film series from 2001 to 2011, has revealed that he doesn’t think it would “work” for him to appear in the new series.
Speaking to E!, he said: “Like the rest of the world, [estoy] very excited to see you as an audience member.”

When asked if he would consider a cameo, he responded: “No I dont think so. I don’t know if it would work for us to do something about it.”.
He was coy about whether HBO Max had already approached him to be part of the project, saying, “I’m going to be a politician on this and not deal with hypotheticals.”

“Your Hogwarts letter is here,” read a tweet from the streaming company when they first announced the series. “Max has commissioned the first scripted Harry Potter television series, a faithful adaptation of the iconic books.”
In February, the executive director of Warner Bros., David Zaslavconfirmed that the first installment of the program will reach Max in 2026.
“We have not been shy in our enthusiasm for Harry Potter,” he said Zaslav. “We spent a lot of time with JK and his team. Both parties are thrilled to reignite this franchise. Our conversations were great and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. We can’t wait to share a decade of new stories with fans around the world at Max”.
It is expected that Rowling participate in decision-making in the general direction of the series, and she is listed as executive producer. No casting has been announced yet.
Zaslav He has also said that the series is likely to last “a decade,” adding: “My wife and I read [los libros de Harry Potter] to each of our three children… It’s really touching, for 10 years in a row, people will watch Harry Potter on HBO; I mean it’s really something.”
