Jean-Marc Vallée died at the age of 58. The stars of the series “Big Little Lies” have now said goodbye to the director.

The director Jean-Marc Vallée is dead. As various media reported unanimously, the Canadian died at the age of only 58 under as yet unexplained circumstances. As of 2017, he directed the first season of “Big Little Lies”. Some series stars have already commented on Valleé’s death on social media.

Actress Laura Dern (54) has published with the director and commented: “Wonderful Jean-Marc Vallee. The world has lost one of our greatest and purest artists and dreamers. And we have lost our beloved friend. Our hearts are broken.”

Dern’s colleagues Shailene Woodley (30) and Reese Witherspoon (45) each reacted to the director’s death in an Instagram story. Woodley was “shocked” at the loss. “Death is the worst. But somehow I know you’ll make a great adventure out of it. One for the books. One that I can’t wait to read and see when my time is right.” Witherspoon published a joint picture and wrote: “My heart is broken. I love you.” The actress also looked back on the collaboration with Vallée with some photos.

Jared Leto also says goodbye

Other stars from Vallées films have recognized him on Instagram. Jared Leto (50) with him and commented: “A strong filmmaker and a true artist who changed my life with a beautiful film called ‘Dallas Buyers Club’. Lots of love to everyone who knew him. Life is precious . ” Matthew McConaughey (52) wrote, among other things, about a joint black and white picture: “Jean-Marc did not romanticize life, he saw life as romantic. He discovered love stories everywhere.”
