Romy Coppola is trying her hand at being a musician and has released two songs – much to the delight of her mother Sofia Coppola.
US director Sofia Coppola (“Priscilla”) is happy about her daughter Romy’s debut as a musician. “So proud of Romy’s first 2 songs that were released today,” the 53-year-old wrote on Instagram on Wednesday (local time) alongside a photo that shows Romy on a scooter.
The 17-year-old is the daughter of Sofia Coppola and the French musician Thomas Mars (47), singer of the French band Phoenix. She was born in Paris. The two pop songs “Stuck Up” and “From a Distance” can be heard online on YouTube; they were produced by the musician Claud.
Sofia Coppola is the daughter of the famous director Francis Ford Coppola. As a baby, she appeared as a newborn boy in his cult trilogy “The Godfather.” After forays into the world of fashion and photography, Coppola celebrated her directorial debut in 1999 with the literary adaptation “The Virgin Suicides.” Four years later, the drama “Lost in Translation” followed, which won her an Oscar for best screenplay. The 53-year-old lives in New York. She has a second daughter with her husband Thomas Mars.
