Rupert Friend: Briton to star in new “Jurassic World” film

According to reports, British actor Rupert Friend will play one of the lead roles in the new “Jurassic World” film.

The actor Rupert Friend (42) is known from films such as “Pride and Prejudice” (2005) or the thriller series “Homeland”, and in recent years he has also appeared in several films by star director Wes Anderson (55), such as in “The French Dispatch” (2021) and “Asteroid City” (2023). The Briton gained further fame between 2005 and 2010 through his relationship with his fellow actress Keira Knightley (39), whom he met while filming “Pride and Prejudice”.

According to reports, Friend will soon be seen on the big screen as a dinosaur hunter alongside Scarlett Johansson (“Black Widow”, 39) and Jonathan Bailey (“Bridgerton”, 36). As the US industry portal learned, the actor is set to take on one of the main roles in the new “Jurassic World” film, which is expected to hit theaters in July 2025.

Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”, 48) is responsible for directing the film sequel, and the screenplay is provided by the experienced author David Koepp (60), who already wrote the screenplays for the Steven Spielberg films “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (1997).
