Rupert Friend Joins Scarlet Johansson in New ‘Jurassic Word’ Movie

Rupert Friendthe British actor who appeared in Asteroid City of Wes Andersonwill star alongside Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey the new movie Jurassic World made by Universal Pictures.

Gareth Edwards directs the new film that also has Manuel García-Rulfo as part of production.

David Koepporiginal screenwriter of jurassic park and The Lost World: Jurassic Parkwrote the script for the new installment, whose plot details are kept hidden.

The project is being furiously developed before production begins in mid-June in London. Universal will have a strict shift in post-production, as the studio has set a theatrical release for July 2, 2025.

Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowleywho have guided the modern Jurassic franchise, will produce through Kennedy-Marshall. Steven Spielbergwho started the franchise in 1993 with jurassic parkis the executive producer through Amblin Entertainment.

Executive Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Jacqueline Garell are overseeing the project for the studio.

Who is Rupert Friend

In recent years, Friend has become a key part of the Anderson acting group, thanks to his appearances in The French Dispatch and Asteroid City. He can currently be seen in two of Anderson’s four shorts based on the stories of Roald Dahl, The Swan and The Rat Catcher. The shorts appear on Netflix.

The actor, who also played the evil Grand Inquisitor alongside Ewan McGregor in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series Star Wars on Disney+, the sci-fi thriller recently wrapped Companionproduced by Zach Cregger, for New Line and will be seen in Michel Franco’s upcoming drama, dreamsnext to Jessica Chastain.
