Jeffrey Wright joins the cast of The Last of Us season two

The actor lent his voice to the same character he will play in the series in the game The Last of Us Part II.

Another member of the voice cast of The Last of Us will join the adaptation of HBO. Jeffrey Wright has been cast in the second season as Isaac, the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group, known in the video game as the Washington Liberation Front, who sought freedom but instead has been caught in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy.

The actor voiced the same character in the game The Last of Us Part II.

What The Last of Us is about

Based on the Naughty Dog video game, The Last of Us takes place 20 years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel, played by Pedro Pascala hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie out (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl from an oppressive quarantine zone. What begins as a small job soon turns into a brutal and heartbreaking journey as the two must traverse America and depend on each other to survive.

Pascal and Ramsey reprise their roles in season 2. In addition to Wright, they are joined by Gabriel Luna, Kaitlyn Dever, Young Manzino, Isabela Merced and Catherine O’Hara.

The Last of Us: from game to series

Wright is not the first member of the voice cast of The Last Of Us to join the live-action series. Several voice actors were given supporting roles in Season 1, including Troy Bakerwho gave voice to Joel, and Ashley Johnson, who voiced Ellie. Wright is the second actor to reprise his own voice role, after Merle Dandridge did the same with her character Marlene in season 1.

Season 2 is currently in production. It is expected to debut on HBO sometime in 2025. It comes from the creator of Chernobyl, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.
