While the sporting world is looking ahead to the Monaco Grand Prix, Princess Charlene has attracted a lot of attention with a photo.
The world of motorsport is looking to Monaco today: the small principality is hosting the Formula 1 race, which runs through the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. At the same time, the country is also celebrating Mother’s Day on May 26. To mark the occasion, the Prince’s Palace has published a photo showing the first woman in the state together with her children.
The picture, published on Instagram on Sunday, shows Charlène of Monaco with her two children, the nine-year-old twins Gabriella and Jacques. The wife of Prince Albert II is wearing a beige checked blazer and smiling relaxedly into the camera. She has her arms around the children standing in front of her. Jacques is wearing a dark blazer with a tie and is hugging his sister, who is dressed in white, tightly. Along with the photo, the palace is congratulating all mothers on Mother’s Day.
Charlène of Monaco also visited the racetrack
The publication of the photo is another step to normalize Charlene’s relationship with the public. The South African had long struggled with health problems and spent a lot of time in clinics outside the principality. At the time, reports were circulating in the gossip press that the marriage between Albert and Charlene was in a serious crisis – rumors that the couple had long tried to successfully laugh off.
Meanwhile, the marriage of the royal couple is no longer a major public issue and so the picture of Charlène without her husband is unlikely to trigger any major discussions.
The event that was more exciting for the yellow press took place elsewhere on Sunday anyway: the Monaco Grand Prix was attended by numerous celebrities, including model Heidi Klum, Oscar winner Michael Douglas and singer John Legend. And Charlene herself also made a visit to the race track. She did not come alone: photos show her in close harmony with her husband Albert.
