In the past, she often doubted herself. Today, self-love and self-worth play a big role in Lena Meyer-Landrut’s life – and also on her new album.
Singer Lena Meyer-Landrut (33) has no problem speaking publicly about her depression and self-doubt. “I have always been open about my feelings and thoughts because for me that is part of being an artist. That’s why I share it when it feels right for me,” the musician from Hanover told the dpa. “I keep private things to myself.” But she has always shared personal things.
In an interview with “Spiegel” and her own documentary series on YouTube, Meyer-Landrut recently spoke openly about her mental health and about how she had often doubted herself in the past. “Self-doubt can come back at any time. At the moment I feel relatively stable in my attitude towards success,” the 33-year-old told dpa.
On her new album “Loyal To Myself,” Meyer-Landrut sings about self-love and self-worth. It is released this Friday.
