Jimmy Kimmel: His son Billy needed a third heart operation

Jimmy Kimmel’s son has had another heart operation. Numerous celebrities sent their wishes for his recovery on Instagram.

Jimmy Kimmel’s (56) son Billy (7) underwent his third open-heart surgery over the weekend. “We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and almost as much fear and came out with a new heart valve in a happy, healthy child,” Kimmel wrote in a post. He shared a photo of the little patient lying smiling in a hospital bed.

Kimmel also thanked the doctors, nurses and staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where Billy was treated. He added for his 2.8 million followers that he hopes they never need to use Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), “but if they do, please know that CHLA helps families regardless of their financial means.”

He also thanked his “strong” wife Molly McNearney (46) and his family, as well as all the “strangers who took the time to pray for our baby and send him positive energy.” Kimmel continued: “Billy, you are the toughest (and funniest) seven-year-old we know.” The TV star called on his followers to support the “Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles” and other local children’s hospitals.

Hollywood stars send Billy get well wishes

Numerous prominent friends of Kimmel commented on the post with well-wishes for the boy. “We love you, Billy,” wrote presenter Carson Daly (50), while Andy Cohen (55) added: “All the best to Billy!” “Full House” star John Stamos (60) wrote: “God bless your little Billy. He is lucky to have parents like you and the care of the good people at CHLA.” TV star Ellen DeGeneres (66) sent “love to your whole family and thank you to everyone at CHLA for everything you do.” Actors Justin Theroux (52) and Michelle Pfeiffer (66) also left greetings to Kimmel’s son.

Jimmy Kimmel had previously spoken publicly about Billy’s health problems. Shortly after the boy’s birth, the 56-year-old explained that his son had a congenital heart defect and would need surgery.
