Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman: Their friendship is like a marriage

Ryan Reynolds (47) and Hugh Jackman (55) have been friends for 17 years. In one, the actors talked about the secret of their close bond. “We rely on each other when it comes to real advice,” said Reynolds.

The two could tell each other everything, “the things you’re ashamed of, the things you’re embarrassed about, everything,” Jackman added. Ryan Reynolds is “an incredible listener” and doesn’t judge him for his decisions. “I think that was the key,” the “Wolverine” actor summed up.

Their friendship is like a marriage

For Ryan Reynolds, the long-standing friendship with his acting colleague is even similar to his marriage to Blake Lively (36). “I think the secret ingredient for a long-lasting Hollywood friendship is not so dissimilar to a partner or a marriage,” he explained. He always wishes Hugh Jackman and his wife only the best and that is mutual: “That’s why we are so connected.”

Getting to know each other on the set of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman met in 2008 while filming Hugh Jackman’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. For Reynolds, the role of the superhero “Deadpool” in the film was the biggest commitment of his career to date. The leading actor welcomed him warmly on set. “Just the fact that you knew my name meant so much to me. And you came over, hugged me and said: ‘Welcome aboard’,” he recalled. The two Hollywood stars were able to learn a lot from each other over the course of their friendship.
