When Hollywood stars belt out football songs, there has to be humor involved. DFB players İlkay Gündoğan and Antonio Rüdiger have tried their hand at being singing teachers for actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

The European Football Championship starts in Germany on June 14th. Then, chants like “Oh, how beautiful it is!”, “One more goes, one more goes in!” or “Let’s go, Germany score a goal” will surely be heard in the stadiums again. DFB stars İlkay Gündoğan and Antonio Rüdiger are already making sure that the anthems are on everyone’s lips. In a funny video published on several social media platforms, the two football professionals try their hand at being singing teachers. And not for just anyone, but for Hollywood actors Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence sing German football songs

“We admire you guys. Do you want proof?” says Gündoğan at the beginning of the clip. Rüdiger then sings the song “Bad Boys” by the reggae band Inner Circle. The title is a reference to the new movie “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” by Smith and Lawrence, which recently premiered in Berlin and will be in German cinemas on June 5th. So that the two actors can also support the footballers, Gündoğan and Rüdiger sing some of the most well-known chants. Smith and Lawrence sing the songs with full body commitment and a strong American accent. Smith is even sure: “We did better than them.”

Even if the title “Let’s go, Germany scores a goal” is hard to understand, the foursome obviously had fun and numerous users on TikTok and Instagram are also celebrating the action. It is not the first football advertising video for the fourth part of the action comedy “Bad Boys”. A few days ago, Will Smith published a clip on his Instagram account in which the superstar appears.

At the end of the video, Smith and Lawrence wish the German national football team every success in the tournament. The opening match against Scotland will take place on June 14th in Munich. The two actors would certainly be welcome guests then, singing with all their fervor: “Let’s go, Germany will score a goal!”
