Former “Tagesschau” presenter Judith Rakers had hoped for more free time after leaving the show. But she is also quite busy in her new life.
Even after leaving the “Tagesschau”, presenter Judith Rakers still has her hands full. “I also thought that when I’m no longer working shifts on the “Tagesschau”, I’ll have a bit more time, but that’s not happening yet. I’m completely busy and working from morning to night,” Rakers told the station Hit Radio FFH in Bad Vilbel.
Rakers presented her last “Tagesschau” at the end of January. Before that, she had grown vegetables in the Hamburg area for self-sufficiency. The 48-year-old explained her departure by saying that this was one of the things she wanted to concentrate on.
The fact that she now has so much to do is also because she pays attention to every detail in her home farming project. “I write every text for our packaging myself and keep tweaking it,” Rakers is quoted as saying in a statement.
“I live the enthusiasm and want to motivate people to do the same because it just makes you so incredibly happy,” said Rakers about her project. For her, it was a logical step to move to the countryside. “I enjoyed living in the middle of the city, in an old building on the fourth floor. But at some point I felt a longing,” said Rakers. “When you opened the windows there, you heard cars. I wanted to hear birdsong.”
