Robert De Niro gave his opinion on the recent conviction of donald trump. The former president of the United States was found guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up money paid to the porn star Stormy Daniels to maintain his silence. Daniels alleged that he had sexual relations with Trump in 2006, which he has continually denied.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet of his new film “Ezra,” De Niro said of the conviction: “I think justice was done. This is only part of the whole picture, so I want to be very careful. This should never have gotten to this point.”.
The “Taxi Driver” actor added: “I don’t want to talk, but I’m very upset about this. I have to say something. This is my country. This guy wants to destroy it. Spot. He is crazy“.
Earlier this week, De Niro appeared outside Trump’s hush money trial in New York and called the businessman and former US president a “monster.” The actor then stated that Trump should never be allowed to be president of the United States again.
