In the new song “Move”, the Erfurt native sings about the importance of movement and also shows her moves in the music video.
Singer Yvonne Catterfeld doesn’t need to be asked twice when it comes to dancing. “I think some people now know that I’m usually the first one on the dance floor and that’s how I encourage many people to dance,” Catterfeld (44), who comes from Erfurt in Thuringia, told the German Press Agency.
In the music video for her latest single “Move” she also shows off her dancing skills. In order to combine her work as a musician and for television (“The Voice”, “Wolfsland”) with her family life, the mother of a ten-year-old son has clear rules: her son and her family have absolute priority, says Catterfeld.
When she receives offers, she first checks whether it is feasible and acceptable for her as a mother and for her son. “That’s why I often have to say no – which I sometimes find a shame. But family is a priority and luckily I have very understanding management.”
Catterfeld’s albums “Meine Welt” (2003) and “Unterwegs” (2005) made it to the top of the charts. She released her most recent album to date, “Change,” in 2021. In addition to further singles, a new album and a tour starting in spring 2025 are now being planned.
