Richard Lugner: This is how his wedding with “Bienchen” went

The Austrian building contractor Richard “Mörtel” Lugner has married for the sixth time. This is how his wedding went.

In earlier times, Richard “Mörtel” Lugner (91) was known as an extremely successful building contractor. Since the end of the 1990s, the busy Austrian has been making headlines, especially with his spectacular appearances at the Vienna Opera Ball, for which he always books female superstars such as Jane Fonda (86) or Priscilla Presley (79) as his companions. Lugner also regularly makes a name for himself by marrying much younger partners. On June 1, 2024, he tied the knot for the sixth time.

Star astrologer predicted Lugner’s “good year for love”

When choosing his new wife Simone Reiländer (42), who previously worked as a manager at a hardware store, Lugner once again sought advice from star astrologer Gerda Rogers (82). She predicted that 2024 would be a “good year for love” for the famous womanizer. Lugner and Reiländer had already become engaged in October 2021, but had since broken off the engagement. As today shows, the two decided to give it another try – this time with a gold ring on their hand.

“Bienchen” follows “Mausi”, “Spatzi”, “Hasi”, & Co

Since Lugner’s fourth marriage to Christina “Mausi” Lugner (58) in 1991 (the marriage ended in 2007), the shrill media star has given all of his lovers and spouses bizarre animal names such as “Spatzi”, “Hasi”, “Katzi” or “Kolibri”. His latest conquest, Simone, also had to put up with being called “Bienchen”.

Like Lugner in the run-up to today’s ceremony in Vienna City Hall, the two will spend their wedding night in separate beds in Vienna’s Grand Hotel for pragmatic reasons. There the multimillionaire explained: “I snore very loudly and Simone can’t stand that. We’ll go to sleep in separate rooms – just like at home.”

Ex-wife Christina with new partner as guest

The weather was kind to the couple at their wedding, which was accompanied by a great deal of media hype. As planned, the two were able to drive to the registry office in an open sky-blue Mercedes vintage car, where the wedding was scheduled for 2 p.m. , Lugner’s ex-wife Christina was also present at the ceremony, who was there with her new partner, the German oil millionaire Ernst Prost (67). When she arrived, she gave her ex-husband Richard Lugner a warm kiss in front of the cameras.

“DSDS” star Lydia Kelovitz sang at wedding

The bride Simone appeared at her first wedding in a snow-white and sleeveless wedding dress with a train, which offered a clear view of her upper arms decorated with large-format tattoos. As the bride and groom and the guests entered, the singer Lydia Kelovitz (34), known as a participant in the music casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2020, sang the song “Truly Madly Deeply” by the Australian band Savage Garden. The emotional song touched the bride Simone so much that she shed tears even before she said yes.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the registrar addressed the groom directly and praised him: “Mr. Engineer Lugner, you are truly a legend that goes far beyond the borders of Austria.” After a further outline of his professional successes, she expressed her hope that his “legacy as a visionary and benefactor” would continue for a long time to come.

Difficulties putting on the bridal ring

The subsequent wedding ceremony between Richard Lugner and his Simone went largely without a hitch, only putting on the wedding ring was apparently a little more difficult than expected. The bride commented on this with the words: “Oh, it’s tight now because it’s so warm in here.” Simone’s sister Sonja and Richard Lugner’s son Alexander (61) served as witnesses for the newlywed Lugners.

After leaving the town hall, the bride and groom were greeted by a large crowd, with many of the onlookers anxiously trying to get a selfie with the newlyweds. While the Lugners climbed into their open-top Mercedes vintage car to cheers and waved to the crowd, the 50 or so invited guests took their seats in two vintage buses to make their way to the nearby Palais Auersperg, where their wedding reception was taking place until 7 p.m.

Lugner has found his dream woman

Even before the wedding, Richard “Mörtel” Lugner was convinced that he had found the woman of his dreams this time. There would definitely not be a seventh wedding. He assured the “Heute” reporters: “I’m sure I’m marrying a great woman. We get along well, she’s great at work, fits in with me in Lugner City, and turns my garden, which was a wilderness, into a beautiful garden again. I can’t complain about her at all. Above all, we get along.”
