Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh is said to have decided to take a drastic step: Does she no longer want to be called Pitt?
Is this a clear indication of where Angelina Jolie (48) and Brad Pitt’s (60) daughter Shiloh (18) sympathize? According to what people close to the former Hollywood dream couple claim to have learned, the now 18-year-old is said to have decided to take a symbolic step and change her surname. According to the report, she dropped her surname Pitt and adopted her mother’s.
A source told “People”: “Shiloh hired a lawyer on her own and paid for it herself.” According to the source, the actor’s allegedly violent past was one reason why she wanted to go through life as Shiloh Jolie and forego the double name Jolie-Pitt. And what’s more: According to “People” magazine, which is said to have the relevant court document, the application was submitted on May 27 – the same day that Shiloh celebrated her 18th birthday and thus her adulthood.
Not the first name change?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have five other children: Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19) and the twins, Knox and Vivienne (15). Two of them are said to have taken a similar step to Shiloh: In the theater program of the new musical “The Outsiders”, in whose production she helped her mother Jolie (48), only the name “Vivienne Jolie” was listed as production assistant, according to “People”.
Her sister Zahara also introduced herself without the addition of “Pitt”: As a video showed, she simply called herself “Zahara Marley Jolie” when she was accepted into the AKA fraternity at Spelman College last November. The relationship between Brad Pitt and his children has been strained for years.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt separated more than seven years ago and fought for years over custody of their six children. The actress filed for divorce in 2016. Although the stars had been together since 2005, they only married in 2014. After Brad Pitt allegedly freaked out on a plane, Jolie separated. The couple has three biological and three adopted children.
