Last month, Madonna’s world tour, which celebrated 40 years of her career, ended. Now the singer had another reason to pop the cork.
US pop icon Madonna (“Like a Virgin”) congratulated her father Silvio on his 93rd birthday with touching words. “I love you to the moon and back,” wrote the 65-year-old in an Instagram post. She also posted several photos of herself and her father – including one of her as a baby. The singer thanked her father for his motto in life: “I’ll keep going until the wheels fall off.”
Madonna was born in 1958 in the US state of Michigan into a large family of Italian descent. Her mother died when she was still a little girl.
Last month, the musician caused a stir with a free concert in Rio. She played on Copacabana Beach in front of tens of thousands of people. Madonna’s website announced it as the “Queen of Pop’s” biggest concert. According to the city administration, 1.5 million visitors were expected at the show. It was the conclusion of the world tour “The Celebration Tour”, with which Madonna celebrated 40 years of her career.
