What Goyo, the new Netflix movie, is about
Goyo is a man with Asperger’s, a fan of Van Gogh, who works as a guide at the Museum of Fine Arts in the City of Buenos Aires. His structured routine is interrupted when he meets Eva, the museum’s new security guard, and love and tenderness take over him. She is a woman who lost faith in love due to a crisis in her marriage, and that at times also makes her lose faith in herself. The unexpected meeting between Goyo and Eva will make them discover another way of loving and being loved.

In the words of its director and screenwriter, Marcos Carnevale (Hail, Elsa and Fred, Lionheart and Inseparables): “The unconventional is the common denominator in all my films. It is my look at life brought to the cinema, to illuminate what – I believe – we are not seeing, even though it is visible. In Goyo, in particular, I chose the theme of autism because it is the most objective and unprejudiced view that I know. Goyo is a person with Asperger’s who sees you and accepts you as you are, without a filter, honestly.”
Carnevale worked on the construction of the script and the making of the film with the advice and endorsement of specialists from foundations such as: Fundación Discar, Asociación Liga Asperger 7, Panaacea and the Argentine Sports Federation for people with intellectual disabilities.
Cast: Starring Nicolás Furtado, Nancy Dupláa, Soledad Villamil, Pablo Rago, Diego Alonso, Balthazar Murillo, Milo Zeus Lis, Mayra Homarand the special participation of Cecilia Roth.
Global premiere on Netflix: July 5. In addition, it will be available in some cinemas in Argentina starting June 27.
