After Lady Gaga responded to pregnancy rumors with a line from Taylor Swift’s song, Swift has now also joined in. She commented on Gaga’s post on TikTok.
It’s a tiresome topic that many female celebrities are familiar with: their bodies are constantly being judged and commented on everywhere. Lady Gaga recently vented her anger about this with a line from Taylor Swift’s song – and reacted so coolly to absurd pregnancy rumors about her. “Not pregnant, just devastated and crying in the gym,” she wrote on TikTok, quoting the Swift song “Down Bad”. Paparazzi photos of her had previously made the rounds, which were so heavily speculated about that fans were already congratulating Gaga on the alleged baby. Now, surprisingly, Taylor Swift has also commented on the matter.
“Can we all agree that commenting on a woman’s body is intrusive and irresponsible? Gaga owes no one an explanation, and neither does any other woman,” the 34-year-old commented on Gaga’s post.
Taylor Swift has spoken about eating disorders
The days when Taylor Swift reacted to every cat video on the internet are long gone: Today, the singer is very careful about when and what she says. It can therefore be assumed that Swift has thought this step through carefully – probably also because she herself is constantly suffering from similar rumors. There was also pregnancy speculation about her recently after concert photos showed her in a skin-tight sequin bodysuit.

In her Netflix documentary “Miss Americana” in 2020, Swift had already explained how the comments about her body led to unhealthy eating habits. In the interview at the time, she also said that the first pregnancy rumors about her started when she was only 18 years old. “It was because I was wearing something that didn’t make my lower stomach look flat. I felt like it was a punishment.”
Other celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Chrissy Teigen have also spoken publicly about how annoying and stressful the constant baby rumors can be. Lady Gaga quickly used the unwanted attention for a good cause: “You can register to vote here,” she wrote in response to the pregnancy denial and linked the registration process for the upcoming US election.
