Heidi Klum’s casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model” is entering the home stretch. Shortly before the semi-finals, however, it’s all over for one of the big favorites.
A big favorite is out: male model Armin from Kempten in Allgäu did not make it to the semi-finals of “Germany’s Next Top Model.” The new episode of the show was the end for the 27-year-old. “I really saw you 100 percent in the final and that’s why I’m really shocked at myself for having to say this now,” said Heidi Klum. “But, as much as I’m sorry, I don’t have a photo for you, Armin.
During a photo shoot in which the candidates had to jump while hanging from bungee devices armed with swords, the young man was unable to convince the jury, which included Klum, Thomas Hayo and Kristian Schuller. “The spark just didn’t fly with you today,” said Hayo.
The eliminated contestant seemed quite shocked. “This dream that grows inside you – and then someone sticks a needle in it,” he said, describing his dashed hopes of winning the top model title. “Even though Heidi’s last words hurt,” taking part in the show was “the most beautiful thing you can ever experience.” He tried to take his failure in stride: “Everyone has to go at some point.”
Next episode first on a Tuesday
The semi-final will now take place without him. Who will then be allowed to move on to the grand finale of the current season will be decided on a Tuesday for the first time in the history of “Germany’s Next Top Model”: ProSieben will show the semi-final next week on June 11th at 8:15 p.m. The live finale will take place just two days later.
Nine candidates are still fighting for the title after the show: Fabienne (21) from Solingen, Frieder (25) from Berlin, Grace (25) from Düsseldorf, Jermaine (20) from Kassel, Lea (24) from Düsseldorf, Linus (25) from Berlin, Xenia (24) from Hof and the twins Julian and Luka (24) from Frankfurt am Main, who now count as one candidate in the show.
