A wedding in the rain is said to bring good luck to the marriage. If the superstition is true, Scooter frontman HP Baxxter and his young wife Sara are looking forward to rosy times.
Scooter frontman HP Baxxter is married again. One day after the civil ceremony in the Sylt local history museum, the 60-year-old musician and his partner Sara also got married in church on the North Sea island on Saturday.
In front of the St. Severin Church in Keitum, numerous onlookers had gathered in the afternoon in pouring rain to see the newlyweds and take a snapshot with their mobile phones. When the bride and groom drove up to the church one after the other, the rain was pouring down.
The wedding had been kept secret for a long time, but HP Baxxter himself published a photo of himself and Sara on Instagram on Friday, showing both of them in front of the local museum, which is also used as a registry office. The message “Just married” had garnered more than 17,000 likes by Saturday, including from Hamburg’s Deputy Mayor Katharina Fegebank (Greens).
After the church wedding, HP Baxxter and his wife, who is more than 35 years younger than him, reportedly wanted to celebrate the wedding with friends and relatives in a well-known island bar. This is not the first marriage for the musician. The East Frisian native from Leer, whose real name is Hans Peter Geerdes, has already been married twice.
