British TV star Michael Mosley found dead

British TV doctor Michael Mosley disappeared on the Greek island of Symi, and his death has now been confirmed. Mosley was known for his nutritional tips. Jamie Oliver also paid tribute to him.

British television presenter Michael Mosley, who had been missing for several days, has died. “We have found the man’s body,” the mayor of the Greek island of Symi, Lefteris Papakalodoukas, told the news channel Skai on Sunday. Mosley’s wife confirmed her husband’s death to the British news agency PA. He had taken the wrong route while hiking and collapsed in a place where the search party had difficulty finding him.

In Great Britain, Mosley was known as a TV doctor and author. The 67-year-old appeared in several shows and hosted, for example, the BBC podcast “Just One Thing,” in which he gave tips on how people can live healthier and better lives. He promoted intermittent fasting and the so-called 5:2 diet. He wrote a column for the Daily Mail newspaper and published books such as “The New Fast Diet: Better Fasting” and “The 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet.”

Cookbook author Jamie Oliver was saddened by Mosley’s death. “What a wonderfully sweet, kind and loving man he was. He did so much good for the public’s health with his TV shows and research,” Oliver wrote on Instagram. “He will be greatly missed.”

Michael Mosley did not return from a hike

British media had been reporting extensively on Mosley’s disappearance for days. He disappeared under unclear circumstances on June 5th. In her statement, his wife thanked the people who had helped search for Mosley for their help. “Michael was an adventurous man, that’s what made him so special.” It was terrible to lose her husband, but she was grateful for the life they had together.
