Ryan Johnson took to his X account to alert fans that the filming of his next Wake Up Dead Man has started.
In his publication, the filmmaker behind classics like Brick and Looper wrote “And we’re leaving! Today is day 1 of filming the next Benoit Blanc mystery, “Wake Up Dead Man”, see you on the other side.”
The advertisement included a shot of Daniel Craigwho will reprise his role as the brainy Benoit Blanc, the suave, debonair detective with the Southern accent who has solved every case so far in Johnson’s film series.
The black and white image shows Detective Blanc wearing a suit and tie with his hands in his pockets. The detective has grown his hair since we last saw him and he looks more like a silver fox than ever.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery It will be the third installment of the franchise created by Johnson with his 2019 feature film, Knives Out. Audiences immediately fell in love with Craig’s Benoit Blanc and all the other quirky personalities in the first episode, which included performances by Ana de Armas, Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis. So when it was revealed that Johnson was at it again, adding another chapter with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery of 2022, it was not a big surprise.
By turning the universe of Benoit Blanc’s adventures into a kind of anthology, the second film took audiences to a new detective novel with a completely different but equally complete cast that included Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn and Dave Bautista.
Cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
It’s been less than a month since Johnson announced the title of his latest Knives Out film, which follows in the footsteps of the other two. Since then, the team behind Wake Up Dead Man has been releasing teasers via cast members seemingly day after day. So far, the cast includes people like Cailee Spaeny, Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Daryl McCormack and Josh Brolin.
