The end of The Boys is near. The creator of the series Prime Video, Eric Kripkeannounced today that the series will end with the upcoming fifth season.
“Season 5 will be the final season!” Kripke wrote on X. “It was always my plan, I just had to be cautious until I got the final go-ahead from Vought. I’m thrilled to bring the story to a bloody, epic, wet climax. Watch season 4 in 2 DAYS, because the end has begun!
The Boys received an early renewal for season 5 last month ahead of this month’s season 4 release.
In 2020, Kripke told fans that his “rough idea” for The Boys was “five seasons total,” acknowledging at the time, “But I also know that I can’t say how many seasons a show will have.” Kripke’s last show, Supernatural, lasted 15 seasons.
What the fourth season of The Boys is about
In season four, the world is in danger. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office, under the control of Homelander who is strengthening her power. Butcher, who only has a few months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his role as leader of The Boys. The rest of the team is fed up with his lies. With the danger growing, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.
