Sylvester Stallone tells of his life in a new book. His memoirs, “The Steps,” are scheduled to be published in 2025.
As one of the great heroes of action cinema, three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone (77) certainly has a lot to tell. But in his new book “The Steps” he doesn’t just want to talk about his life, he also wants to help other people.
The Hollywood star’s memoirs are due to be published in the USA next year by publisher William Morrow, which is part of HarperCollins. It is still unclear whether the book will also be published in a German-language version in 2025.
Stallone writes “deeply personal” book
The book is described as “deeply personal”. It is characterized by instructive stories from the actor’s life and, according to the report, is intended to be a mixture of memoirs and self-help book. The portal compares “The Steps” with “Greenlights” by Stallone’s colleague Matthew McConaughey (54), which was published a few years ago.
The title, translated as “The Steps”, is based on one of Stallone’s most famous film scenes. In his 1976 classic “Rocky”, the actor climbs the steps to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and raises his fists. The steps are therefore often referred to as the “Rocky Stairs”.
According to literary agent Byrd Leavell, the title was Stallone’s idea. The book shows that the star of today did not have it easy. “He earned everything. He just knew how to rely on himself because he believed in himself,” which is also the message of many of his films – a personal triumph after overcoming adversity.
