US singer: Kevin Jonas had skin cancer removed

US singer Kevin Jonas shares a video that he apparently recorded from an operating table. And he has an important appeal to his fans.

US singer Kevin Jonas says he has had a skin cancer tumor removed and reminds his fans to visit the dermatologist. The 36-year-old shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday (local time), which he had apparently recorded from an operating table. “Today a basal cell carcinoma is being removed from my head,” he said in the clip. “It’s actually a small skin cancer guy that has started to grow.” Kevin Jonas became known as part of the pop band “Jonas Brothers”, which he founded with his two brothers Nick and Joe.

The short video shows the singer on his way home with a plaster on his forehead after the operation was apparently completed. He appealed to his viewers: “Make sure you get those moles checked out, guys.”

According to the German Cancer Society, basal cell carcinomas are also known as white or light skin cancer. In Central Europe, they are the most common malignant tumors. The mortality rate is low – unlike with black skin cancer and many other types of cancer, according to the cancer society’s website.
