Rebel Wilson: No meeting with her fiancée’s parents

Rebel Wilson (44) has been in a relationship with Ramona Agruma (40) for two years. The two are now engaged and even have a child together. But until now, Royce has had to grow up without a pair of grandparents, because neither Wilson nor her daughter have met Agruma’s parents yet. “Ramona was born in Latvia, and the country is not as LGBTQ+ friendly as other countries,” Wilson explained.

Her partner’s parents have not yet gotten used to their daughter’s same-sex relationship. “I just think that some people need a little more time – and some will never be able to bring themselves to do it, and that’s okay, it’s their decision,” the actress explained. Nevertheless, the first meeting with her future in-laws is now imminent, because in a few weeks the family is traveling to Europe to visit them. Wilson is “really looking forward to getting to know them, because I know they are very intelligent. Ramona’s mother is a doctor.”

Family learned about the relationship through the press

The “Pitch Perfect” actress and the designer made their love public in June 2022. Not entirely voluntarily, because an Australian reporter had previously threatened Wilson with outing her publicly. The couple therefore had to make the relationship public “a few months earlier” than they wanted.

“Some people in her family didn’t know and found out through the press,” Wilson told the site. That didn’t go down well – but she was all the happier about her own family, who didn’t have “a single negative reaction.”

Daughter Royce is the “icebreaker”

The main reason for the first meeting with Ramona Agruma’s parents was Royce, who is now one year old. “Roycie is the real icebreaker – they FaceTiming with her,” explained Rebel Wilson about the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren that could be developed further.

Royce was born in November 2022 with the help of a surrogate mother. Four months later, their mothers got engaged at Disneyland.
