Actress Nina Dobrev revealed details about her injuries in her first television appearance since her serious accident in May. “I rode a dirt bike for the first time and it didn’t go well. I don’t recommend it, guys,” the “Vampire Diaries” star said on the show “The Talk.” “It’s okay, I learned my lesson: never get on a dirt bike.”
Dobrev said she lost control when she tried to ride with the front wheel off the ground. In a panic, she accelerated too much and the bike slipped away from her. “Luckily it didn’t fall on me, which the doctor said would have been much worse. But when I landed, I landed on one leg, straight, and my knee just buckled.”
She needed knee surgery. “I was given a huge brace, I can’t really walk on my own yet.” The actress explained that she suffered a knee fracture in the accident and that her anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus were also injured. Visiting the TV show was the first time she had left her house in weeks, said Dobrev.
