More problems for Marvel: the Blade movie is left without a director again

Director Yann Demange abandoned the long-awaited reboot of Blade of Marvel Studios. Mahershala Alilinked to the film since 2019, when he joined Marvel boss, Kevin Feigeat San Diego Comic-Con to launch the project, remains on board to star.

Sources cited by the Deadline portal emphasized that Demange’s departure from the project was completely amicable, although it may indicate another delay in Blade’s path back to the screens. Initially gearing up for production in fall 2022 ahead of director’s departure Bassam Tariqthe project again faced delays last year amid the writers’ strike.

The Marvel Veteran Eric Pearson is writing the new Blade movie, scheduled for release on November 7, 2025.
