They have played concerts everywhere. Now Metallica will enter the digital world – in a famous video game.
Metallica will perform on the virtual stage in the video game Fortnite. Under the title “METALLICA:FUEL.FIRE.FURY,” there will be three live performances at different times on June 22 and 23, Universal Music announced on Thursday. These will only be accessible to players within the game.
The Americans are also the first band to be seen across all worlds in Fortnite. “James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo are the icons of Fortnite Festival Season 4.” In the game, players can perform songs by music greats on stage and adapt the appearance of their game character to the look of the pop star.
The heavy metal band is currently touring the real world. At the end of May they performed in Munich. Further performances are planned in Copenhagen, Oslo and Warsaw, among others.
