A second season of the drama may be in the works. HBO Mare Of Easttownas executives reveal they might “start thinking about building something.”

As such, many fans were hoping for a second season of the series, written by Brad Ingelsby and Craig Zobel.

Now, it looks like there could be a possibility for a second season, according to comments made by HBO’s drama director, Francesca Orsi.

Speaking to Variety for its cover story on Winslet, Orsi said the team “raced to discuss a season 2” following the show’s success at the Emmys. However, he added that at the time “it seemed too soon.”

Now, he has shared: “Although there is nothing in process, We’re having initial conversations about whether it might be time to start thinking about building something.“.

She continued: “We might be willing to resolve it with Mare, years later, pick her up, not immediately after where she left off, but it’s been years for the character. Who is she now?”

Orsi added that he plans to talk to Winslet and Ingelsby to “see if there’s any viability for everyone to say yes again.”

Shortly after the show ended, HBO boss Casey Bloys hinted at the possibility of a second season, telling Variety: “Brad, Kate and the producers are talking to see if they think there’s a place for it to go.” .

He continued: “I think we’ll hear from you in a couple of weeks if you think it’s a story worth telling and you’re excited about it.

“I’m excited to hear and see what they have to say”Bloys added.
