After separating from her ex-partner Gerard Piqué, singer Shakira is not considering a new relationship.
Pop star Shakira (47) and ex-Barca professional Gerard Piqué (37) announced their separation in June 2022. While Piqué, the father of Shakira’s two sons Milan (11) and Sasha (9), seems to have found his private happiness with his new partner Clara Chia Marti (25) in the meantime, the Colombian singer has, according to her own statement, sworn off serious relationships for the moment.
Shakira: “What place do I have for a man right now?”
The singer, who was seen in public last year with Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton (39), basketball player Jimmy Butler (34) and “Emily in Paris” star Lucien Laviscount (32), when asked whether she plans to look for a romantic partner again in the future: “I’m not thinking about that at the moment.”
“What place do I have for a man right now?” the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer adds challengingly.
Although she still likes men, which she herself describes as a “problem” after a series of negative experiences in the past, before she would again consider plunging herself into an “official relationship”, she would have to “prepare her two sons very carefully” because the “emotional and psychological well-being” of her children Sasha and Milan is a “priority” for her.
In the year after Piqué and Shakira split up, rumors about the ex-football star’s alleged infidelity also circulated. At the end of last year, the Colombian sang to her ex and his new partner Marti: “I was too much for you, that’s why you’re now with someone who is more like you […] You swapped a Ferrari for a Twingo. You swapped a Rolex for a Casio.”
In November, Shakira plans to start a new concert tour around the world after releasing her first studio album in seven years, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” in March. It is the Grammy winner’s first world tour since the “El Dorado World Tour” in 2018.
