Stars and starlets of this world are known to have a tendency not to give their offspring run-of-the-mill names. “Glee” star Darren Criss (37) and his wife Mia Swier are no exception. While their first child together, a daughter, has the unconventional but quite normal name Bluesy, the name of her brother, who has since been born, is causing mockery on the Internet. Because his name is actually brother!
Brother, to be precise, which could cause confusion in the future, at least in the English-speaking homeland of Criss and his family. The actor had the name of his son, who was born earlier this month, along with the exact date of birth (June 3, 2024). The full name: Brother László Criss.
Doomed to a life of teasing?
Apparently the star himself was aware that this naming could cause surprise among his followers. And so he added in his post: “… and yes, his name really is Brother.”
A user immediately responded with a not entirely unjustified objection: “If you have to say ‘Yes, his name is really…’, chances are you’ve chosen a bad name.” Another is already worried about the baby’s school years and future: “Darren… I adore you… But you’ve condemned your child to be teased for the rest of his life.”
It is also extremely unfortunate that future partners will then have to call their loved ones “brother”. An example of the wedding altar in the comments section: “Do you take brother as your lawfully wedded husband?” Fortunately, there is still some time to establish potential nicknames until then.
Darren Criss and Mia Swier met through mutual friends in 2006 and only started a relationship in 2010. It took another eight years before the actor asked Swier to marry him. Their daughter Bluesy was born in April 2022, almost two years before her brother Brother.
