The championship will take place on June 15 and 16 at Ribs al Río, a wonderful open-air venue with views of the Río de la Plata.
Ribs to the River (the restaurant specializing in Texas food and ribs) and BA Capital Gastronómica join forces to carry out the second edition of the Federal Smoked Championshipthe event in which twelve participants, chefs and smokers compete for the title of best pork rib smoker in the country, using their own technique and blend of spices.
The championship (sponsored by Gordons, Corral 23, Budweiser, Ivess and McCain) will take place on June 15 and 16 at Ribs al Río, a wonderful open-air venue overlooking the Río de la Plata where people will be able to pay a ticket of $16,000 and access 1 kg of ribs, fries, a drink and the possibility of voting for the winning ribs.
There will also be a panel of experts open to the public, in which the topic of conversation will be the business and the smoking scene in Argentina. It will have the international participation of CuracaRibs (Chilean smoked meat chain with seven stores and important sales in supermarkets).
As for the prizes, there will be competition for two different ones: the “Jury Smoker”, where six experts will choose their favorite Pit Master who will win $200,000, a prize pack from sponsors and the possibility of cooking in the famous Ribs al Río Smoking Club cycle. And, on the other hand, the “Pueblo Smoker”—chosen by the visitors—who will take home $200,000 plus a prize pack from the sponsors.
Space is limited: there will be 1,400 tickets available, which are purchased through Passline (https://www.passline.com/eventos/campeonato-federal-de-ahumados-segunda-edicion). Between 12 and 11 p.m., the shifts will be two hours long, contemplating the tasting of the different ribs and a relaxed tour of the property.
