Organizer Ewald Tatar drew a positive conclusion and was pleased with “200,001 visitors” over four days, as he said with a grin during the conversation. The fans were picked up by New York hardcore legend Biohazard in the early afternoon. The festival grounds were in good shape again after the rain during the night.

On the day with the highest number of visitors, Saturday, it started pouring down just in time for Måneskin and Alice Cooper to start. “Four weather services predicted between one and six litres of rain – and then we got 25 litres,” said director Tatar angrily. “Which is of course a completely different dimension and slowed down the departure of the day visitors. But you have to say, the atmosphere and the days before were great, and yesterday was also 90 percent perfect.”

The increased use of squeezeboxes and folk music in the program was noticeable. “This year it just so happened that Folkshilfe and Fäaschtbänkler played one after the other,” says Tatar. “As we saw, there’s an audience for it. Things like that will continue to happen from time to time, but that doesn’t mean that we’re booking a day of brass music. Don’t worry.”

Is there a ‘VIP toilet’?

Reports of expensive toilets and prices have been doing the rounds. “Yes, there is a ‘VIP toilet’ that is constantly being cleaned. Yes, you pay for that,” said Tatar. “But there are plenty of other toilets. And we are considering whether we should do away with these VIP toilets altogether next year because they are hardly used anymore. Because the quality of the new toilets that we installed this year is top notch. As for the price explosion, all I can say is: welcome to reality. We are currently experiencing this not only at festivals. Nova Rock is not the only festival with increased prices. But our beer prices are cheaper than at another concert that took place recently, for example. The infrastructure costs a lot of money, and that has to be taken into account.”
