At a memorial service in South Carolina, “General Hospital” star Johnny Wactor was buried in the presence of family and friends.
Family and friends of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor (1986-2024), who died at the end of May, paid their last respects to the US actor on Saturday, June 15th. Three weeks after his death, the 37-year-old actor was buried at a memorial service in his home state of South Carolina.
The funeral was held by Wactor’s mother Scarlett and his brothers Grant and Lance, among others, as the news channel further reports. The mourners also included “Vampire Diaries” actor Micah Parker (35) and Wactor’s acting colleague Anita Joy.
“Still among us”
On social media, Parker honored his late friend with a series of photos on . The actor shared images of floral arrangements and a framed portrait of Wactor displayed on the altar steps during the service.
The actor wrote in his story about the framed photo of the deceased “General Hospital” star: “Laid to rest. But still with us.”
Wactor succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound
The American actor Johnny Wactor was shot dead in Los Angeles in the early hours of May 25th at the age of 37 after his shift as a bartender. According to police reports, he confronted three men on Saturday night who were allegedly tampering with his car. The men were said to have tried to steal the car’s catalytic converter. At around 3:25 a.m., the police found a man with a gunshot wound, who is believed to have been Wactor. The actor was taken to a hospital where he died.
Joy, who witnessed the shooting, recalled the night of the crime: “Johnny was between me and the man who shot him,” said the actress. “When I heard the shot in the night, he fell [Wactor] with full force back into my arms. When I reached for him, I called out ‘Honey, are you OK?!’ And he just replied ‘Nope! Shot!'” The actress continued by writing that she was grateful “that I was allowed to be a part of his world and he was a part of mine. His loss breaks my heart, but I think I have gained the best guardian angel there is. I love you, Johnny Wacky.”
