A bloody start to the European Championship for Kylian Mbappé: France’s star broke his nose in the first game – and takes it with humor.
Football star Kylian Mbappé (25) was able to secure a victory with France against Austria in the European Championship opener last Monday evening (June 17). In the 1-0 match in Düsseldorf, he even played the decisive role in Austria’s own goal by Maximilian Wöber (26). But later he had to endure a painful experience.
Looking for mask ideas
Shortly before the end of the game, he got a bloody nose in a collision with Austria’s Kevin Danso (25). People close to the player said after the game that his nose was broken. The president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Philippe Diallo, told reporters that “no operation” was necessary. Mbappé reacted with humor, probably also because of the relatively mild outcome of the injury.
“Any ideas for masks?” the soccer star wrote succinctly, adding a mask and a laughing emoji. It didn’t take long before the first ideas for the soccer player, showing how he could play in the next game, were posted online.
It is not yet clear whether Mbappé will play for France in the next group matches, which will take place on Friday against the Netherlands (June 21) and next Tuesday (June 25) against Poland.
