Brad Pitt’s film about Formula 1 confirms its release date

The film reunites the filmmakers behind Top Gun: Maverick, including director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

The film will hit theaters in the United States on June 27, 2025 and reunites the filmmakers behind Top Gun: Maverickincluding the director Joseph Kosinski and the producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Internationally, the film will begin releasing on June 25.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the film came to Apple under a deal that guaranteed the film would receive a substantial theatrical release, with a window of at least 30 days, if not longer. At the time of the deal, it was clear that a distribution partner for the film would need to be brought on board. Apple has made these types of partnerships in the recent past, notably working with paramount at the theatrical release of Killers of the Flower Moonand with Sony in Napoleon.

What is Brad Pitt’s film about Formula 1 about?

Pitt plays a former driver who returns to Formula 1 alongside driver Idris as a teammate in APXGP, a fictional team on the grid. The film was made in collaboration with ten Formula 1 teams, with scenes shot during real F1 races.

Pitt will be joined on screen Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

Kosinski produces the feature alongside Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; and Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment, and Lewis Hamilton under his company Dawn Apollo Films.
