European Championship tournament director Philipp Lahm watched the France vs. Austria match in the stadium with well-known football stars.
Philipp Lahm (40), European Championship tournament director and 2014 world champion, took his seat in the Düsseldorf stadium on Monday evening (June 17) to watch France’s 1-0 victory against Austria on site. And he did so in “the best company”, as the ex-professional announced.
Selfie with world champion and European champion
Together with the European Championship ambassador and two-time European champion Celia Sasic (35), France’s world and European champion Christian Karembeu (53), Portugal’s ex-star and 127-time national player Luís Figo (51) and Spain’s world champion, double European champion and current Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso (42), he saw the opening match of the two teams.
The meeting of the big football names was captured with a selfie. Lahm wrote: “Day 4 – #AUTFRA in the best company! It’s wonderful how fans from Europe and all over the world have turned Germany into a big festival within a few days.”
“Great atmosphere at the European Championship with some legends,” wrote Karembeu and also published the selfie with a lot of football celebrities. Another photo shows him with Robert Pires (50) and Lilian Thuram (52).
On the second day of the European Championship, Lahm appeared on Instagram with Sasic and Figo in the stadium in Berlin. He wrote on a photo of them together: “The ball is rolling, the atmosphere in the stadiums is fantastic, the weather is perfect and the fans are cheering on their nations! And we have a Portuguese legend sitting next to us, Luís Figo. Let’s keep it up!”
