Designer Stella McCartney (52) took the opportunity to send loving words to her father Paul McCartney on his 82nd birthday on June 18th. In a video in which she looks at pictures of her father taken by her mother Linda McCartney (1941-1998), she writes: “I see my father Paul McCartney today through my mum’s lens. His day. Happy birthday, Papa Smurf.” In the clip she also says: “Have a wonderful day and I love you.”
Paul McCartney was delighted to receive further congratulations on social media. The Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood (77) wished the birthday boy a “wonderful day” at X. He also published some souvenir photos with his music colleague.
Special “Hey Jude” birthday greetings
Julian Lennon (61), son of the late Beatles legend John Lennon (1940-1980), wished his “Uncle Paul” all the best with a series of souvenir photos. It was not without reason that he accompanied the photos with the Beatles song “Hey Jude”. The song, once composed by Paul McCartney, was intended to be a comforting song of encouragement for Julian after his parents’ divorce. “Hey Jules” (Julian’s nickname) then became “Hey Jude”.
