Julian Nagelsmann: This woman supports the national coach

Lena Wurzenberger made her first major appearance after the German national team’s first game at the European Championships. Leaning over the barrier, she hugged and kissed her partner, national coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Not only the deep love between Wurzenberger and the national coach could be seen on the first match day, Nagelsmann’s nickname was also emblazoned on his girlfriend’s back. Since the national coach does not have a shirt number, the letters TR – for trainer – were on the jersey. Above that was his nickname: Julsi.

Julian Nagelsmann fell in love with “Bild” reporter Lena Wurzenberger

Lena Wurzenberger and Julian Nagelsmann are said to have been a couple since summer 2022. The first, very familiar paparazzi pictures from a yacht off Ibiza are already from July 2022 – the portal “” shows them.

The 36-year-old was previously in a relationship with Verena Nagelsmann for 15 years – four of which were spent married. The couple have a son and a daughter together. The marriage failed just a short time after the birth of their second child. The couple stated that they had grown apart as the reason for their separation.

The 31-year-old Wurzenberger is a journalist and worked as a sports reporter for the “Bild” newspaper. There she was responsible for reporting on FC Bayern Munich – Nagelsmann was employed there as a coach from July 2021 to March 2023.

The “Bild” then transferred the journalist to the police department because of their liaison. In August 2022, Wurzenberger and Nagelsmann were seen together in public for the first time in Munich at the European Championships, a sporting event that combines various disciplines such as rowing, triathlon, gymnastics and cycling. In spring 2023, it was announced that the graduate of the Axel Springer Academy was leaving the “Bild”. She then took a job in communications at the major car manufacturer BMW. Her former employer wrote at the time about her departure that she would take on the position of “spokesperson for the supplier network and sustainability” at BMW.

The couple are said to live together in the Munich district of Schwabing-Freimann. Since the beginning of 2023, they have been working on a house-building project on Lake Tegernsee. However, it is said that the construction of the 793 square meter plot with a lake view is progressing slowly and there are said to be some complications, such as a necessary procedure for shoring up the soil and much more.

The couple does not yet have any children together, but they do have a Labrador named Rosalie. Nagelsmann and Wurzenberger are said to be very attached to their hometown. The national coach comes from Landsberg am Lech, she is from Munich. He likes to spend his dream vacation on a mountain bike and hiking in the mountains.

Lena Wurzenberger keeps her relationship largely out of the public eye. Her Instagram account is private, and her boyfriend doesn’t post any photos of the couple together.

Nevertheless, she is there for him and supports him, an important point, especially with the European Championships underway. At the end of 2022, Nagelsmann said of Lena at a sporting event: “I have a wonderful companion with me who supports me very well in my private life.” The spectators could now see that too.
