People: Fynn Kliemann and Olli Schulz have sold their houseboat

It is Germany’s most famous houseboat: in 2018, Fynn Kliemann and Olli Schulz bought the houseboat from Gunter Gabriel and documented the renovation. Now there is a new owner.

According to Kliemann, YouTuber Fynn Kliemann (36) and singer Olli Schulz (50) have sold their Hamburg houseboat. “The time has come: Olli and I are moving out. But we are handing it over to good hands,” says Kliemann in a video he posted on Instagram.

In the video, you can see Kliemann packing up recording studio equipment and other items such as the trophy for his number one album. “Olli and I spent wonderful nights in here,” says the influencer, looking into a bedroom.

In 2018, Kliemann and Schulz bought the houseboat of pop singer Gunter Gabriel (1942-2017), restored it and documented the work on Netflix. It was supposed to be a “retreat for creative people”. They built a recording studio and overnight accommodation. But the plan didn’t work out: First came Corona, then the mask scandal surrounding Fynn Kliemann, and the berth in Rothenburgsort was not suitable for events, Olli Schulz told “Zeit”.

“It’s simply the most beautiful place in Hamburg. You have to say that,” says Kliemann in his Instagram post. “I think I’ll be a guest here a lot now that I’m no longer the owner.” This is also the main reason for moving out: “Olli and I want to be buddies again, eat pizza more often, talk about music, drive around town and talk shit.” Recently, too many conversations have revolved around questions like “when the sacrificial anode is due next” or “when the shit has to be pumped out again.”

The houseboat was a cool adventure. He doesn’t regret anything, “it was a lot of fun.” The houseboat is being “taken over by someone really great.” The buyers are the racing cyclist Rick Zabel and his wife Leonie Zabel. The couple have already posted an Instagram clip about it. In the comments section, Kliemann wished them “great bike rides along the dyke with a beer on the roof and the most beautiful sunsets.” The Zabels should take good care of the thing “and call Olli if anything happens.”
