Maniac tells the story of two strange young people who connect because they are part of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial. Something that the two of them and the rest of the participants in the experiment have in common is that their lives have not gone well at all. Annie has unresolved discomfort generated by her lack of relationship with her mother and her sister, while Owen is the fifth child of a wealthy family that struggles with schizophrenia.
