Singer: Swift’s songwriting session ends with fire extinguisher use

At night, superstar Taylor Swift writes a song with songwriter Gracie Abrams. Then the whole thing escalates – with both musicians laughing loudly.

A nighttime songwriting session by Taylor Swift and musician Gracie Abrams ended in a lot of laughter and the use of a fire extinguisher: The American singer-songwriter Abrams posted videos of it on her Instagram account. There you can see Swift (34) and Abrams (24) writing a song together at the piano. Suddenly Swift is standing in the kitchen, where a small fire is blazing on the counter.

“What do I do about it?” she says, and jokes, “I think we’re going to die.” To Abrams’s laughter, she fiddles with the fire extinguisher and calls him a “bitch” because she can’t get it to go off right away. Until it finally works, and Swift, laughing in the haze of the fire extinguisher, says about the items still lying on the counter, “Our wallets are ruined, and our shoes, and the whole room, I think.”

Abrams wrote: “Writing this entire song from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. was some of the most fun I’ve ever done in my life.”

The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported on the incident. Swift often works with other musicians. On her German tour, which starts on July 17 in Gelsenkirchen, the band Paramore will appear as a support act.
