On Friday, superstar Taylor Swift performed with her “The Eras Tour” at London’s Wembley Stadium. Prince William and his children were among the guests – and surprised everyone with a dance performance.
Videos doing the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) show Prince William swinging his hips in the box to “Shake it Off” and singing along loudly. Fittingly, the concert also fell on his 42nd birthday. And he ended it with his children Prince George, 10, nine-year-old Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, 6.
After the show, Taylor Swift posted a selfie of herself with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, Prince William and his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She also wished William a happy birthday.
Prince William and megastar Swift have known each other for a long time. Back in 2013, the singer brought him on stage during a charity event at Kensington Palace and sang a version of “Livin’ on a Prayer” with him and Jon Bon Jovi.

For days now, the whole of London has been in Swift fever. For example, a Taylor map of the “Tube”, the London underground, was published: Each line is named after a different album and drawn in the corresponding colors. Stations are named after songs such as “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “All Too Well”. Gemstones point to places with connections to the pop star.
Even before her concert on Friday, Taylor Swift was greeted by the royal guard in the British capital when the band played their hit “Shake It Off” in front of Buckingham Palace. “Can’t stop, won’t stop groovin’,” the royal family captioned a video of the performance on social media. Which means something like: We can’t stop, we won’t stop dancing.
William’s wife Kate was not seen at the concert. The 42-year-old has largely stayed out of the public eye in recent months as she is undergoing cancer treatment. However, she had already congratulated her husband that morning with a sweet post on Instagram.
“Happy birthday dad, we all love you so much,” she captioned a photo she had taken herself. Most recently, she made a brief appearance on June 15 at Trooping the Colour, the annual celebration of King Charles’ birthday, 75 – it was her first public appearance since Christmas.
